Hi All,
Anyone have any experience growing Raphiolepis indica as a bonsai? Just been promised a large stump, but info on the web seems sparse. All I know at the moment is that they are really slow growers, but other than that
Cheers,
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
I have one growing in my collection. I have had it two years and it hasn't really grown, so yes they are slow growers. I have found that they produce masses of small pink flowers but it seems to be at the cost of leaves and branches. It is also prone to red spot on the leaves. It has really good potential for nice bonsai though, I'd grab that stump with two hands! Other than that I can't really help you.

There has been at least 1 really nice, large one shown at BSV (Bonsai Society of Victoria) show a few times over many years.

Thanks Shibui, I've sent an e-mail to their secretary. Hopefully my details will get to the owner.
Cheers,
Andrew
