Hi all, 2 of my plums are about to flower, and the forecast is rain/wind... should I bring them inside to protect the flowers? or just move them under the veranda? (not as protected obviously

I have found plum flowers to be quite hardy and I have never moved mine into a sheltered position. If you are a bit worried however, under the verandah would be my suggestion.
The real question is how much rain is anticipated? If its bucket loads, then move, if its just a few mm then don't move.
But as a plum lover I would hate to see any damaged.

If you want the flowers to cross pollinate and the tree to bear fruit, then put them under the verandah, otherwise the heavy rain will wash off the pollen. miyagiman.

Personally think that fairly heavy rain will smash up the flowers quite a bit. This is why I don't keep mine under the sprinkers at the moment like many of my other trees. I just hand water them instead.
