This is an olive I dug up probably year and half ago. I have picked branches and just growing them on. But how do I do a apex/crown? I got a heap of growth and I want to get the most out of this growing season!! Help please

Hi Goff , it`s a nice stump well done
If it was my tree i would have liked to cut the tree shorter as past the curve the tree seem a bit too straight .
If you decide to take this option you might want to tilt the tree a little to the left so is not leaning so much and i believe it will have a better flow.
Later down the track you can create a shari down the middle to give the tree a more natural look.
Here there is a virtual so you can understand what i have in mind...

If you want to fix the problem all in once make the cut lower and style the tree as an open informal broom, that`s the tree that I would make...

I hope all this helped and i wish you all the best with your tree

Goff,
Unless you have a very specific personal reason why you want that second section long, I think from a design perspective, cutting it much shorter is the "correct" thing to do! If you bite the bullet now, it will be worth it in 10 years. I think you'll have a better proportioned tree.
The bonus is, you will not need to worry about the apex yet!
Cheers,
Andrew

Just chop it blind a olive like this that has plenty of growth will bounce back fast mine normally show signs of fresh shoots 10-14 days after a chop like this
