Now that the oval pot marathon thread is complete, I thought you might like to see a few of the other pots that have been coming out of the kiln.

Here are a couple of semi-cascade pots.
This next one is an experimental pot. I have been working on this particular glaze application for a while and I think I finally got it where I want it.
These next two are a couple of cascade pots.

The new experimental glaze on number 3 should prove to be a winner. I like the blue/grey of the last cascade too.

That experimental glazed one is great. The pot is round isn't it? What type of tree do you have in mind for it?

Thanks Antonio, this is a variant of the white mud-crack glaze that I used on a pot that was shown in a previous post.

I call this particular variant "lizard skin".

By the way, I included this one for your benefit. I think this is a fair example of combining masculine and feminine elements in the same pot design without loosing the pots identity. What do you think?

You have a good eye Penny. Yes, this is a round pot.

In regards to your second question, the answer is yes and no.

No, I do not have a specific tree in mind for this particular pot. As I said, this is an experimental pot. I was working out the final details on how best to apply this glaze. I have made several other attempts at this particular combination with limited success. I was satisfied with the final results on this attempt and from the positive feedback you and the others have given, I think I finally got it right.

Yes, I do have several types of trees in mind for the application. I think a nice rough barked maple or elm would look good in a pot glazed in this fashion. I have a number of root-over-rock Acer rubrum bonsai that I feel would look good in an appropriately shaped pot glazed in this manner.
