Hi Meagi, It is a good time to wire your branches and wire some movement into the leader of the tree. Next planting you can tilt the tree to create a little movement to the trunk. It is a little to straight at the moment. Good luck with your new tree.

It looks freshly repotted. I would be hesitent to wire now as it is liable to fall out of the pot when wiring or atleast disturb the potting. But if you do wire now just keep that in mind.

I have a few smaller English oaks, but they are currently in the ground to pit on a bit of growth.
They will be smaller Shohin sized trees

If you can wilre the branches out without disturbing the roots by moving then do so but otherwise leave them till later. When you do. Wire loosely so that it can stay on for a few months without cutting in.
