Melaleuca...which species is this?

Hi all, I am interested to know which species of Melaleuca this is?
It is self seeded from what I assume is the typical mature Melaleuca street trees that are commonly used in Melbourne suburbs. The leaves on this species are prickley and they sometimes sting if you brush your skin against them. The new buds that form are of a rich vibrant red colour.
My pictures are not the best, but I hope they are of some use.

I would really appreciate any help I can get.
Thank you!
Cheers, Dario :tu2:

Could be Melaleuca stypheloides - Prickly Paperbark. Very common street tree in eastern states
