Fig group planting

Well I had a couple of spare hours today and decided to try to put together the start of a fig group planting. Some of these had sat in pots for the past year to recover as they were very sparse when I bought them. ( as a result they were dirt cheap :) )

Some of these were fused together but were split As not all were used

This is it now.... Needs to recover and grow then thinking of chopping the straight trunk on right and letting the smallest right hand side trunk extend and thicken... hopefully they will all fuse together in time.... Nothing like a bit of an experiment!!!

good to use lots of smaller stuff eh :-)

I agree with the straight trunk, Chop it back and can you tilt it a little?

I think it can go a bit more to the right.. Thinking of doing it on the next repot as it will need further root reduction....already chopped off quite a bit!
Also not sure if this will obscure the tree behind... May have to reposition this as well, which is fused to the other two rear trunks... Plenty of work left

...and yes ken, its a good way of using smaller stock to produce a larger overall display... The final width will end up being around 1m .. Give or take :)

Well I made the chop to the straight trunk (was going to happen at some time) and then left the lot alone for a while....read forgot for a while.
Wasn't happy with the trunk chopped tree so pulled it out and will now make it a stand alone tree, at least it has some good root spread... I can hear you say 'what root spread?' Well it's all covered for the moment.....

While I was at it I also rearranged the group, the two taller ones had fused so I have left these, Long way to go but I think it's heading in a better direction.
