Azalea, cutting a major root
Posted: November 8th, 2012, 2:44 pm
I am trying to alter the angle of an azalea, I have repotted it onto an angle closer to where I want it, and have slowly been scraping away the dirt on the high side, encourageing the roots to go down. however I am now left with a delimma, that there is a major root, that will eventually need removing. can I cut this root safely? even in 12 mths time? the root, at the trunk is approx 1 cm in diametre.
I am uncertain what sort of azalea it is, but believe it may be a karume
thanks
