I have 3 other Fig ROR, this is my first attempt at a 'root over deadwood'.
I'm aiming for a rainforest strangler fig form on this one, it will be repacked again soon... (I try to let the packing material come off naturally over a few days, then reposition roots if needed and repack.)

ok... so when I find my nice piece of wood to be strangled... did you first treat the wood to prevent it rotting later?

No ideally id like the dead wood to eventually rot. Hopefully at the right stage..

After years of moisture the 'dead' wood becomes ''Less hard & Easy to rot'''. I would read into it further before following my path... I do "trial&error" personally.

got a tall benji i was thinking about doing this over the top of it was alive but barely, have lots of cuttings in ground if they take i could use one but today i was looking at the benji and it was chop time got to itchy have another large benji i could do it to but its thriving....hmmmm decisions decisions... might slow the rot to still would eventually die but

could make for interesting experiment
