Neglected Juni

I took this Juni on after seeing that it had needed some much TLC. It had become leggy and twiggy.

I trimmed it back about 2 weeks ago (sorry no before photo) and began working on it today.

It is unfinished as it was getting dark so over the next few days I should be working to finish the initial styling for the time being.

As it is after the initial trim 2 weeks earlier.

Now that is some seriously funky trunk!!!

If I'm going to be old and grumpy, (and that seems to be happening quite often) I'd think about clarifying the trunk movement in one direction, not having it going off in all directions at once. The low left trunk in the last photo seems very strong indeed. You could layer the other two - there's great dynamics in all of them.

Great fun, thanks for posting.

Gavin you are absolutely right and i still haven't decided on the trunk yet though i am getting close.

I was tossing up whether to keep the cascade and work the abstract style or lose it and work with the birds nest i managed to tangle up.

They cant co-exist can they?

Any eyes out there n which would make a more interesting tree?
