Hi all,

I wanted to start incorporating some of my trees into the garden design, so have started building some individual bonsai display stands. :tu2:

Thought i'd post some pics as Im sure many of you have plans to do something similar in the future. :shifty:

Im really happy with the results :tu:

They look great Sid,

How have you joined the platform at the top to the post? I have a few heavy pieces of timber I would like to make some tall posts for bonsai but I have not yet decided how to make the join.

Hi Ash,

Mate I used some type 17 batten timber screws with the hex drive head. Make sure you pre-drill some pilot holes first to avoid splitting the timber. I used 125mm long screws too. Made for easy strong fixing :tu:

I've made 6 displays stands and will make another 3 or 4 I reckon :tu2:

Hi Fireworks! The stands have made a huge difference in being able to appreciate my trees further. Being able to view the trees at the right height makes an incredible difference.
Every time I show someone through my collection I always hold each tree up at the correct viewing height. The stands also make working on trees easier as you can move around the trees without needing to spin the tree on a turntable :tu2:

Hi Sidd,

Your stands look great. they really do help highlight your great trees. I noticed your Ginko in the back ground, he is a big fella. :tu:

Hi Mal,

Good observation there mate! Yes the Gingko was a bonsai tree at one stage. I have since then planted it in the ground to use as a host tree for layering off several times a year.

I hope to have four nice Gingko Bonsai by this time next year :tu2:
