Wow. I like the look of that one.
It reminds me that I could do with some more olives to carve into.

Had time to collect this olive today my helper was my 8yr old son hes not as keen as my daughter but was at me to help dig so took him along

not a bad dig we had the tree out in 30mins

here are some pictures has a lot of potential with many options which is great.

Your nick says it all really...Checking out your pics of this lovely specimen that you grabbed because your Almond died.....couldn't help but notice all the olive's in the background...

Very nice find!
Still can't believe you can hack off that amount of base and the tree will still grow!
Is that the European Olive?
What would be the estimated age of a tree like that?
No problems from rotting from within?

Its a European olive i think with the age ive got know idea would say around 15yr plus. As for rotting never seen it happen before olive wood is very hard when dead here is a link to a much bigger one i cut flat i just wanted the base

it has survived an has shoots just not where i want them right now

That is one of the best potentials i have seen.

Time to start getting these guys going and start showing us progressions.

About 8 weeks on this tree is shooting well ive all ready removed lower shoots

ill be able to select a few branches to wire out still not set on a design im thinking it will be a multiple trunk of some sort

had a idea did a quick virt it aint good quality

but in the process of drawing with pencil be a another big tree but think it may work

have got shoots in the right places for this design i think
