A little Port Jackson Fig

Hello ausbonsai,

I thought I would share one of my little Figs in development and the progression of it so far ( All of its 3 years....lol). Rather than go about it with just photo's, I have attempted to put together a short video of it and towards the end it has a 360' view of the tree. Its only a baby in Bonsai terms but I would like to think its off to a pretty good start.

I think that its an interesting way of showing a progression over the usual photo. I hope you don't mind me posting this and if there is any comments (the good, the bad, the ugly) please I do not mind.

Cheers

David

great way to show the progression. Went through a few pots but I do like the last pot best with the slightly more lean you have put it on. Well done.

Great progression - I do find my eye keeps being drawn to the fact it is offset a little too much in the pot :2c:

Great way to present the tree.. I think doing the 360 video should be done more often.. Especially on trees that have had a bit of development... Well done

Thanks Ken, I appreciate that.

Thanks Shinkitai, I think the angle is better than it was but I can already forsee a few tweaks here and there down the track.

Thanks Tony, I have to agree with you 100% on being offset too much. I can see it in a smaller pot, the nebari being more exposed (which is hidden) and a slight angle change of 5% more upright. Below are two photos, the first is how it currently sits (as per the vid) and the 2nd shot is a virt where I want to go with it:

A few more years and it hopefully should be getting there or thereabouts.

Thanks Jason, its still trial and error for me with the video side of things but its different to the usual way we would see progressions.

Thanks matlea, I'm hoping to upgrade the camera and editing software over the next year so that the quality can improve (along with my trees Im working on lol)

Thanks again for the comments

Hi Antonio,

Sorry I didn't respond earlier mate, not sure why it wont work you for but its not the end of the world and you ain't missing much IMO lol

This little guy is loving the heat we're experiencing at the moment. It hasn't skipped a beat since repotting last year and am pretty happy with how its coming along. Here it is with a bit more growth.

A few more years and I think it might make a decent little Bonsai. Any comments and feedback welcomed.
