Sorry for the repost but my original was wiped during the server issue. Try again shall we. I would like an I.D on this tree and maybe some care/styling tips.

Heres the little collected native, iv had for about a year now. Only just potted it up, not its final pot but something to accommodate its root spread with little to no interference.

Looks like a Eucalyptus or Angophora to me . Does the foliage smell when crushed?

Squizz, i dont think so mate, the leaves are elongated and skinny, that tree you suggested have more round short leaves, from what i can tell.

I have a young one here that looks exactly the same. I think they have two different leaf types depending on the maturity of a branch or tree. I may still be wrong but I wouldn't dismiss my guess yet

Hi Andrew, don't know id wise, but I do know that.. Angophora is a close relative to the Corymbia, and the Eucalyptus, except an Angophora has leaves on its stem that are exactly opposite each other... yours looks to display opposite leaves.

This is not a dig at you Ben10000 but it is near impossible to distinguish a Eucalyptus variety from what info Andrew has given here. Euc Id is up there with one of the hardest in horticulture as you often need to know the bark, leaf flower and seed plus other parts to get a proper ID on any of the Euc species. There are a few exceptions. I would still say its an angophora as it has opposite leaves (as Dario has said) and I have only said hispida (as it is likely to be either hispida or costata if its a collected native in Andrews area) because its a very similar new growth to the Angophora hispida I have here.

Any further thoughts Velvet (Andrew)? By the way what do you think of the new Deftones album?

Hey guys, gave a leaf the crush and it was indeed lemon/citrus scented if that helps any further.

I have one and if I remember correctly it is red gum tree.

If it has a citrus smell when crushed then it is quite possibly a Corymbia citriodora, previously a Eucalypt.
Squizzy is right, unless there is a defining characteristic, it is very difficult to ID a member of the Eucalypt group, I am even a little shaky on my pick as Andrews perception of a lemon/citrus smell maybe different to my own.

I thought Euc/Corimbia citriodora too when I saw citrus smell but those leaves do not look like any citriodora I have seen - juvenile or adult so I don't think that's it.
As you say Damian, one person's lemon scented is not necessarily the same as another person.
