Liquidambar Styraciflua Twin Trunk

I have grown this tree from seed ( must have been about 2006 or so ), and this was 2 seed placed in the same hole in a seed tray.
Both germinated and 1 was always slower than the other, but the leaves and behavior were very similar. Early on a i decided to make a twin trunk from them and the smaller tree has been kept under control more than the larger one
I defoliate as needed thru the growing season by Tip pruning and selectively removing larger leaves every few weeks.
they get Liquid Fert every fortnight or so and Neutrog Sudden impact pellets on the surface every 6 weeks or so.

this tree is one of the very few that colour up for me here, and I have to be quick to get them as the leaves usually blow off
I am now concentrating on Branch ramification and development
Nice photo from yesterday

they will revert somewhat but i just defoliate constantly whenever they get too large.
Only did 2 full defoliations this summer, and occasionally had to take the larger leaves off.
