This is my 1st try at putting lime sulphur on a bit of deadwood, I put on 4 coats 30mins between each coat and it has turned the wood yellow. it has been about 2hours after the last coat and it is sitll yellow. is there any way to fix it?

It will dry white. It is one of the things that happen when you put it on it goes on and turns yellow before it dries.
Try not to let any water wash it onto the soil, as this could contaminate the soil and damage roots close to the surface.

just wondering how long it will take for the yellow to fully turn white? when you talk about watering, do you mean always or just for the 1st few days?

Thanks.

Pup is correct but it will dry in a few days and turn white. Just water the soil until the lime has soaked into the wood.

This often freaks out newbies but as the others have said just give it a few days and you will have the result you are supposed to have.

I think that when the lime sulphur has dried it is ok to water it. My trees get watered by overhead sprays every night and I have ever seen problems with trees that had lime sulphur applied during the day. If you want to be cautious do what Bodhi suggests and just water the soil for a day or 2 rather than watering over the trunk and leaves.

just protect the bonsai soil with a plastic bag and aim a jet of water onto the lime sulphur area and wash it off. It will turn instantly white.

I usually apply three coats of lime sulphur on the first day with half hour intervals and then one more coat the following day, I water with a shallow container filled with water that is big enough for the pot to sit in, this allows the water to be drawn in via the drainage holes in the pot (As long as the container is deep enough), I only do this for the two days and then water as usual
