No idea what it is but keep it down there... I like my spider population.

It is a wasp, taking advantage of small to medium spiders.
It had to chew the legs off this one in an attempt to get airborne.

Ahh... very cool, I haven't seen one like it but get plenty of mud wasps, their nests are one thing, watching them on the hunt for baby food is another

Damian, That picture is a fine example of the Lesser Exhaust Pipe Blocking wasp. Next time you need to cut the grass and the mower and line trimmer refuse to start

, - check the exhaust. That's where these guys prefer to make the nest for their young and you will probably find the exhaust filled with mud
Wonder what they did before the advent of the IC engine
