Here is my holiday project, we went camping for 9 days out at Tenterfield & Glen Innes fishing and fossicking but did not strike it rich but i did come home with a bag full of awesome rocks. I have used 5 shimpaku in the landscape and as you can see they are very young so they have a very long way to go yet. Photo is not so good as it is from my phone because camera is full of holiday snaps.Will go looking for moss when i find some time, long way to go with this one but i hoping i will get to where i am aiming for. Was hard to get a good photo of it, hope you like. Comments and advice are welcome.

Nicely put together. It looks quite arid, as it is, and the junis look a little like arid-zone acacias near a dry water-course. Maybe a little tent or a tiny Landcruiser instead of the Chinese guys? I thought of venerable Chinese scholars thoughtfully sipping tea way out the back of the Alice, in a 50deg heatwave with the flies and the dust and the snakes - made me smile.

Really cool Mark !!! I really like it alot, great rocks,great job on the trees, great placement of all elements but one. The rock on the right on its side doesnt quite look natural but creates a good level of height. 9 out of 10 !!!

Yes great work, will love to see this as it matures. Not sure if it was on purpose but I think you have captured a very Australian landscape. The misdirection and somewhat chaotic direction of the branches is just how the native Callitris grow in many parts of Australia.
You just need to get a rock cutter

Thanks for comments, i wanted to create the type of landscape where i collected the rocks from and come to think of it i didn't see any groups of old Chinese men sipping tea there. I am not a fan of using figurines with bonsai but always end up putting them in photos. The rock which ant has spoken of is quite round and one of my favourites which is why i didn't commit to glueing it in, does look a bit awkward in pic but i like it and will leave for now. I really wanted to use claret tops for this but the nursery's are not getting them in because of myrtle rust and roadside ones are to big. Still resting in shade from the heat so when its time to move it into its place i will try and take some better photos, to hot and heavy to do before then. Thanks again

Here is a photo of this morning in its new spot, no work done on it except the moss which has gone crazy. Moved it up a bit higher to get more sun but i'm happy with it so far.

Here is a pic from this weekend, have not had a lot of time for trees these last 7 months as we finally bought a house and have been working mostly on it. I am finally getting out of house and into the garden and slowly getting trees back into shape. Still not really any work done to this one. same wire just a few more rocks and fresh top soil and i have not pruned for awhile.. will shorten jins add some shari when i take wire off. I have made a bit of a setup where i can take photos of trees and wanted a photo of this one and liked it so here it is.

Hope you enjoy your new home. I like the extra rocks on both left and right hand sides. I think they give more balance to the overall effect.
