Hi Guys
so here is my Mexican White Cedar after a basic trunk wire. As you can see from the picks it was just a vertical trunk without much character at all. I did a split repot today and to my suppries it was nothing but root. Solid, hairy, root which gives me confidence that this tree will be ok after the repot. I havent bothered to wire the branches as yet because im not too sure which ones will stay after the first style. I just thought id post this as a beginer to get some feed back.
So fire away any criticisim welcome.
Oh and forgive my rookey wiring :D

You could probably use a thicker wire a 4 or 5mm you'll see a big difference in manipulation

Nice wiring for a beginner, and i agree, use a thicker wire to get better purchase and hold a tighter bend if you want.
Do not be afraid to try and get much more bends in it.
See what I did to a Juniper here viewtopic.php?f=131&t=6410&p=73619&hili ... per#p73554

WOW
that is amazing. I have a nice Juniper that is just sitting there at the moment. Maybe I can have a try at this myself just to see how it goes.
Thanks Ken, inspiring.

Greetings,
I think I would have kept it straight and done a formal upright.
Check the roots are not doing circle work in the pot and feed it hard.
Keep the top thin so the lower branches thicken up.
Happy bonsai,
Bruce.
