Walking home I found a local street lined with zelkova. All the trees were full of seed. I realise it is a bit early to collect but was wondering how early I could get away with and still get viable seed? Pic related.

That's what I was thinking. Autumn is the ideal time when seed is ready to fall. That said, I have had green trident seed strike which got me thinking.
I have no experience with zelcova seed so was wondering how close to the optimum time you could get away with.
