Latest Ficus - something a little different

Yesterday i was rumaging around some pre-loved nursery stock and came across this ficus which caught my eye. Now i am puzzled if it is two individual trees or they have fused to one? In any rate i got this dirt cheap and looks like it could be an interesting project whether i seperate them or use it as a twin trunk. If it stops raining long enough i may just start the root work and see what gems may lie beneath.

Any ideas or suggestions just from the preliminary pics with no idea what is beneath?

Idea on species? I am thinking Benjimina?

using the last pic as the front i might chop the tree/roots vertically then bring them close together and fuse into a twing trunk. Get that underway and the focus on the tops much later.... well that is my initial thought after seeing the pics again after posting.

I would wash all the soil off the roots and repot it now. You will then be able to see what you are working with and then select the front. Let it then get some new growth and perhaps trunk chop it back severely next summer.
