hi all,

still a newbie and would like your opinion on this bougainvillae, has already root pruned it and move to a shallow pot. what would have been your next step in his development ;)

That looks like a nice starting material.
How to proceed from here depends on where you want to go with this material.

If you're satisfied with the girth of the trunk, you could proceed to improve the ramification + some wiring.

But if you're aiming for a thick trunk, then "cultivate" one or two sacrificial branches to thicken up the trunk.

Hi Coomy
in the second photo, i would shorten the right hand side and build the foliage pad out and to the right side of the bend and a little lower on the outside. On the left i will build an rounded topp apex there that has more foliage on the right side and "Points" down toward the first pad

That is of course if you are happy with the trunk size. If not, plant out in the ground for 5 years :-)
