I have sevaral of these trees growing in the garden and I think they would make awesome bonsai. The trunks have amazing movement, small leaves and small flowers. Everything I want in a bonsai. I just don't know what they are. I prune them evry year along the path with hedge trimmers so pruning them isn't a problem. The flower almost looks like a gravillea.

Yep, it is a Grevillea. Species unknown though
Not to say that you shouldn't have a good go at it though

Grevillea linerifolia 'Pink Gem'
this delicate yet hardy shrub 1mH X 1.5mW produces pink spider flowers for most of the year. Coastal friendly, originating in Northern NSW, it enjoys a light prune after flowering which increases flowering and provides for a dense compact form. Attractive to birds, it makes a great nesting site!

Or possibly a select form of Grevillea sericea, they can make good bonsai but are touchy about root pruning & can suffer from occasional dieback. I have never had any luck with digging any grevillea other than robusta.

Thanks Chris and MattA. They are awesome shrubs and they appear to be tough as I don't look after them at all apart from hack into them with hedge clippers when they hang over the path to far. Might dig a couple and see how they go.
Josh.

If you dig them they will almost certainly die. As Matt already said Grevilleas do not tolerate transplanting except G.robusta (Silky Oak)
