Picked up this wisteria from my club on Monday night. The guy selling it had it for $50 and by the end of the night, no one had bought it and offered it to me for $25 so I took it with not much to lose.

I took It out of it make shift pot and cleaned away the average soil finding a few curl grubs. There was a fair few fine feeder roots and I had a pot that was big enough to hold everything without cutting.

There is quite alot of rot which I have started to carve away. What are the steps you take for treating rot, generously apply wood hardener? Any lime sulpher?

A nice base but you will struggle keeping water up to it in that pot. Wisteria are water and food lovers in copious quantities. Its difficult keeping rot out of Wisterias but clean it up and lime sulphur it and that will stop it for a year or so.
