I need a bit of advice on how to tackle digging large Casuarina out . I am keen to give them a go after seeing so many fantastic ones in"Budi's" new book. Does "Casuarina (Equestifolia?)" grow native in Aust :?:

Hi Shannon,
Casuarina equisetifolia is the common native species you find on the coast and beaches all around tropical Australia, the one with weepy foliage and that lovely sound of wind through the trees on the beach. Looks very different if pruned as bonsai as in Roberts trees. If you don't have any luck colecting one in your area send me a message for seeds.

I looked through my Bonsai Focus magazines for the article on Casuarina and believe that it is in issue no# 87 the one that I am missing. Can't remember how much the article had about collecting but it should be worth a look. The article was written by Robert Stevens. I wonder if his book has anything on collecting?
