Hi everyone and thanks for reading. I have a question. Is it possible to grow trees such as oaks (common and scarlet) as well as maples (Japanese) in fruit bins?
I would love to have these trees in my backyard, but don't have the space for full grown trees. Time wise proper bonsai is also not practical for me.I'm aiming for the middle ground and would appreciate any advice on how to go about doing this. (or not).

Any large container will be fine.
Make sure the potting mix is open and coarse so it will not get compacted.
Do not sit the pot on the ground, but leave a space under it to drain
