Lovely Salmon Colour
Have no idea of variety but more than likely some form Indica Hybrid to be flowering now
Love azaleas, but cannot identify them for peanuts

thanks KC,
sorry, I should have dated the flowering time, which would help with the ID. The photo was taken on the 24th September. Orange time, and from memory, summer in Orange last year was cool and short..... grrrrrrr!!!!!
So, any Azalea lovers, or horticulturists, any thoughts on KC's Indica Hybrid thoughts

The tight, compact growth and the small looks like one of the Gumpo varieties to me.

This is a bit spooky. Check this out. They are in Oregon USA. Very similar.

thanks heaps Damian and Hackimoto,
I've never heard of either Gumpo or Rukizon varieties, or maybe they are the same. I will check out 'gumpo' later.
The Rukizon you suggested surely looks like it to me.
The Wee Tree Farm site you gave me a crazy feeling for 2 reasons. The shape they chose with the double tunk in windswept style certainly has that extremely similar shapt to mine. The other that was more of a 'holy smokes/

' feeling. was the price listed. Surely mine isn't worth $180.00
And I think your spot on Damian with your ID.
Really, my deepest thanks to you, and to Hackimoto for finding that look-a-like at WTF. Quite freaky!!
And....I would say ID solved
I've shaped another that I have no idea where to push the styling

I got both for $5.oo. They were very root bound and the owner was just happy to get rid of them

Hi woody.
Although Gumpo and Rukizon (Kazan) are both in the species indicum from the Rhododendron genus, they have different heritage and are different. Gumpo has an unknown origin and Rukizon is a sport (mutation) from a parent plant Taihei (which apparently has the synonym Rukizon in the US).

mind boggling enough

Both look like good material to me Woody.
You've done a good job with these so far too I reckon.

Nice and i love the little one
Much better without the middle ( back trunk)
I would shorten the right hand one too back to the shoot there, and remove the upper branch from it. Let the Canopy spread across to the Void in du course

Damian/ Boics and KC
yes....confusing, but very interesting Damian. I'm very grateful for the history......you get up too early in the morning!!
And Boics.... Thanks for the compliment. Muchas gracias!! That gives me a little more confidence to show some more, for styling advice etc!!
And KC, yes, I agree with you with both suggestions. When I looked at the photo after reading your post, I can see what your saying will help its overall shape. They back bud very easily. Thanks for the input.
I will have to change over to a different thread (styling) as the [ID] is SOLVED
"Thanks to all for the help"
