Hi John

Thanks for the posting! Were these slip repots or did you do any root work at all? I thought it may have been a bit too early in the season to do root work on deciduous, with the bulk of winter still to come. Lovely nebari on the second tri too!

Makes me want to get out my dremel to your first trident. :twisted: A hollowed trunk from that lower cut mark would look great IMO.

Thanks for posting these John. I like the cherry particularly - the branch movement and the trunk movement harmonise well. Please post it in flower, when spring eventually surfaces.

Might it be Prunus amygdala, the flowering almond? If it is, well done indeed - it's difficult to get any trunk on them at all, in my short acquaintance with them. Should be glorious in full flush.

Hi Gavin,

i am fairly certain this is a cherry.

I have a flowering almond which i am lucky enought o have both an amazingly thick trunk and superb taper

Is that good old Liquidambar styraciflua?
