Im not sure on direction though.

I cant do virts Damian but i see it as a semi cascade with two levels. A long lower and a shorter, squat top and get rid or jin the top section.

Either Actually, I was thinking Cascade, but Jin might work as well
start withit as a semi and then you can Jin later if you feel it needs it

is this what you mean Ken? It looks a lot better bent back the other way over the center of the trunk Ill say that much. If i keep extending the lower branches i might look nice.

that major curve would look more natural as more vertical than horizontal--but that would depend on the nebari when tilted and more exposed

I agree Guy but the problem is at the very base of the trunk it goes strait down which would make it very hard to tilt and it would look funny anyway

Hi Guys
well its been a little over 6 months since I first posted this Juniper and as you can see it is popping with growth.
j1.jpg
The problem I have is it looks crap
Im not happy with the direction it is heading in and want to change the overall look of this tree. Im thinking one of two things to improve the feel of this tree and tell a better story.
Option 1: remove the foliage of branch one and Jin, spin the tree 180 for the new front and focus on the top half.
Branch 1.jpg
j5.jpg
j2.jpg
or
Option 2: the opposite. remove the top part (like some of you suggested in the beginning) and develop a semi cascade.
branch1.1.jpg
The problem is I cant visualize it as a semi cascade where as I can see it with the jins and dead wood on the bottom and a nice structured top.
Either way Im thinking of compacting the distance between the bottom of the trunk and the 1st branch, be it Jin or main branch.

I thought now would be a good time as the tree is very healthy and the weather is good.
Thoughts, ideas, opinions are all welcome.
Sorry about the quality of the pics, all I have is my phone camera.
Cheers
