So I received this for Fathers Day, upon request. It seems to be handling the travel and new environment well. Anyone have any words of advice. I am not apposed to cutting anything off, or coping it to add some movement, or putting it in to a pot to let it grow

It does look healthy, how far away had it had to travel to get to you? Father Day was just a few days ago, so if the temperature zones are different, then I would leave it alone for a little while, so that it can get used to where it is and decides how it would respond.

I had observed it as a boy eons back in Vietnam. We do not have it in Melbourne, Australia, I never have any real experiences with this specie.

But I understand that in good health, it can be cut back hard, and shoot back very readily.

Thank you. The weather conditions are about the same. I am going to give it a couple more weeks, or already until it is done flowering. I was thinking of air layering the top and turning it into shohin/mame possibly, and then adding some movement to the bottom. Thank you for the link.

Hi. I have a couple of wrightia myself here in singapore. Urs is slightly different from my, my leaves r smaller. Anyway the flowers r the same. Tis species respond very well to root pruning n trunk chopping. It back bug readily. I root pruned about 70% off a 15yr old wrightia. It responded with leaves drop intially for the 1st few days follow by flower bloom after the first week. They love water n full sun. Have fun
