What tree is this? Looks amazing in bloom, never noticed it before this winter. Was hoping to move (dig up) and make an ornamental tree, not bonsai as the leaves are quite long from memory. Have I missed the boat to digging up and if so should I start preparing for next June?

Looks like a prunus, possibly a flowering apricot.
You can dig it right before spring and it will survive with good aftercare.
Im sure someone else will be able to provide a better insight as to the exact species.

I was thinking apricot or nectarine, some kind of stone fruit but could be out of the ball park,

It may be a seedling peach, check on the Net to compare the leaf shape, if you remember what it was. Certainly well worth digging now, (cut it back hard) or at least before the leaf buds burst. What's the stump/base/trunk look like?

Ill take a good photo today and on some parts there is some budding of the leaf already. So cut back hard and dig out around September time?

Dig before the leaf shoots break. September will probably be in full leaf. That's just my 2c.

I reported a peach yesterday, and it was already starting to break out.
Do not wait too much longer.
