You already have a good number of people responding on there, as well as all the images in the other thread.

Hi Ficusboy,
While there is nothing wrong with having an idea of the direction you want to take something, perhaps it is a little bit early to be worrying about that for your little Fig. This is a perfect bit of material to get started on the right note from early on.
If I were you, I would be worrying about the nebari of it for the moment. If you were to put it into a tub with a free draining soil mix and enough room for it to stretch out for a year, with your year long growing season up there mate, this time next year you could move onto the next step. Bareroot it, trim the roots, place it over a rock or something flat, then repot it, in another years time you would have a fantastic foundation to build upon.
Just concentrate on growth of the roots for the time being and no worry about branching or even movement because you are a few years off that concern at this moment in time.
I have a couple of figs myself that started off like this years ago and down the track with time, they become treasures.
