Hi Andrew
mate im sooo jealous
I watched the Bjorvala Bonsai Studio video on youtube with the juniper that you styled and was blown away. Great stuff.
I have one question, and it may seem a bit intrusive, but how expensive was it to study at Kauka en School?
It is something that I would love to experience. Looks like a lot of fun.
Regards
Damian

Nice video there :)

I'm going to Japan for two months next year and watching that video makes me wish i was there now. :(

I am going to fujikawa international bonsai school for one month, the price is surprisingly not as expensive as i thought.
The fujikawa web site has the prices listed out.

Cant wait to see the other videos. :)

Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed in.Thank Damian, i was really stoked to work on that juniper. As mtarros said prices are in the website .i think it was around $1500 with accom and amenities.
Mtarros your in for a treat , you'll have a great time. When i was there Bjorn said all of a sudden he had a swarm of aussies wanted to study there which is great. Word of advise which was pasted on to me from owen. Try an practice your wiring as much as possible. They will teach you how to wire properly but if your already fast it means the faster you finish a tree the sooner you get your next and with every tree you learn so much more.I wish i could back sooner than later.
Cheers
Andrew

Hi I was just wondering if anyone can tell me the visa requirements for going to Japan to study bonsai? Do you need to register as a student?

Check at the embassy. I did not need a visa but SA citizens heeded it.

This is just too embarrassing. Booked, and started packing to go to Japan to the international school of bonsai..I was so happy I was accepted...Just to get this email:
I noticed on your application form that you said you'd like to come within the next 2 weeks. Unfortunately, we are fully booked for the rest of this year.

Would sometime between March 1 and Oct 15, 2014 work for you? As I mentioned before, the months of June and August are completely open, but you may also come anytime between 3/1 and 10/15.

Please let me know, thanks.

Kind Regards,
Bjorn

Silly me did not check which year that is. Thought they have no students this year... :o :( He said if I go, I would be the only student. So I thought he meant this year.
A friend went to the airport, last year , when he was going to Japan a day before the flight together with his client. And he was teased about that for a long time...But this is just too much...To go there a year in advance!

But all is not lost. I sent an email to Yoshi, My agent, and he said he can organize some lessons for me...where I dont know..but we had arranged that for end of October. So now I sent him an email to find out if he is busy with clients at that tim and if he can arrange it at that time. So I am waiting for him to reply.

Love the calibre of these tree's!

That is bad news Neli!
Surely they can make some time for you!
