Hi everyone,
Dug this casuarina this morning on my way out to pick up someone dip tins that I'm using for all my Hopefully one day bonsai. After just stumbling across stevens casuarina posts and all great informative threads earlier in the day,I spotted
A large group roadside so I decided to check them out. The couple that I collected where in loose gravel in terra rosa country which made for an easy dig all up I collected three. Not to sure on the species yet I'm sure someone may have an idea on what they are. Here are some pics if my favourite please feel free to give me your thoughts :D

The first bit of the trunk looks interesting. Let it recover and you could cut back to have the 1st branch as the new leader.

I'm not too sure about the metal tin as pots. They should be ok for now but the iron might kill off some of the root when the come in contact with the metal.

Long ago, when I was just a youngun, Nurseries used to plant everything up into tin pots. That's all there was before plastic.

Cutting back to the 1st trunk sounds like a plan.when the time come i need to reduce height severly its pretty tall, using branch 1 as the new leader should give me substantial taper aswell.just done my 1st little virt an saved on my phone so as I don't forget trust me when I say its pretty ordinary :palm: to
