Chinese Elm

This was collected as a grafted Ulmus Glabra Lutescens , i kept the tree even though it had been damaged from the bobcat bucket which was used to pull them out . I had plans to layer the top off however after last years hot Summer it sprouted Chinese Elm from below the graft . I whipped the top off with the chainsaw and allowed it to grow on .
I dug it this morning the scar is from the Glabra shoot removed With a quick wash to reveal the best place to cut the bottom off and remove the big side roots , can't tell if 1of the bigger roots is Glabra or Parvifolia , either way there is plenty of root cutting that will simply be thrown into some turned soil somewhere in the garden and basically forgotten .
No time to waste on cutting's as there is plenty of other jobs that need attention . The main base will go into the new grow bed i finished yesterday . Another trunk another future tree.
