I was up in Sydney for a day last month, we stayed at a motel called Checkers, and what a coincidence - there was a bonsai nursery right next door  Well when missus said she needed to sleep in after all the driving we'd just done I said "no worries, I'll just go for a walk", well I didn't have to walk to far at all :D

Bonsai Art - Imperial Bonsai Nursery - at Terry Hills run by the Bennett's is great place to go! had a long chat with both Megumi and Alex who made time to show me their personal collection (wow) and the workshop sapce, their range of Japanese pots is fantastic - from special Tokoname and the like inside, to a whole range of others - all fairly unique (and no chinese crap :tu: ) I couldn't choose just one, so I walked away with about ten shohin/mame sized pots to accompany me on my travels back home. Their Japanese garden/pond is beautiful too! well worth the visit!

I also believe they are involved with the Bonsai Society of Sydney annual exhibition coming up too, on display at Checkers on the weekend of 17-18th August 2013

Haha, yeah they some nice specimens for sale. Their private collection is simply stunning. Personally I feel the Ray Nesci nursery has more variety to offer, but it is still a great place to visit. I just visited Megumi about 3 months ago, and bought 6 bonsai starters from her and some pots. She is very nice, and just like Ray, is more than happy to talk and give you advice.
