I collected this tree from a rented house while still was in university -- that was eons ago.
Over the years I have attempted to wire it, but wired branches just kept on dying off -- I gave up wiring it.
The shape is not much to look at, but I like it regardless. It is one of the first trees I collected in the first year I started bonsai.

I agree that they are difficult to get graceful branching. View 1.2 looks balanced and refined to me.
Thanks for posting,
Gavin

Hi Daiviet . mate they are a bit fickle when i comes to wiring . I choose to snip and grow mine , they never behave but a hook and hold wire is one way to hold the branches down then trim to suit . Its still a good looking tree thats for sure .
Cheers Alpine.

I agree with the other respondents, good tree in the making. I also agree with Gavin in regard to photo 1.2 as a prefered viewing side.
I have quite a few plums and I wire them as I would any other species, but I try to have the last bud pointing up a little.

Pretty sure its "elvins" and i wire mine at this time of year just before flowers. They respond well but you should let them dry out for a day or two first. Nice potential and i agree with the others on the front.

Hi Freckl,
Thank you

for reading. The pot is a run-of-the-mill Korean pot:
- Width: 31 cm -- at top, outer rim.
- Height: 15.5 cm -- including the feet.
The tree:
- Trunk: about 6 cm.
- Height: about 58 cm.

Hi Ken,
I did try the clip and grow. But we just had a rather hot Summer, so I let ran free in the last 12 months or so.

Hi GavinG and Watto,
I do agree that 1-2 seems to be best side to look at this tree. But given my experiences with this particular tree so far, I am not sure how long it will stay that way.
On 1-3, I am planning to get rid of the L root that points to the left too.

Hi Alpine,
I think "snip and grow" ( or as clip and grow as Ken has put it ) is the way to go for this tree too. I will try guide wire when the time comes.
