I've been watching this one for a while. I picked it because of its branch placement, but when I repotted it recently it had a very small root ball and much of the trunk was underground, so I suspect it is a branch cutting Also the branch placement is what you'd expect of a branch. Its sending out buds now so I wired it. It is a taperless stick but I still quite like it. I have forgotten what colour it is. I now have four crepes and I only know what colour one of them is... hope they flower this year, I want to know what colour they are!

*Sigh* All these photos were taken in the same orientation on the iphone. They were all edited in the same program. So why are some still sideways? Bloody apple! I've now re-edited them and stripped them of exif data, now they should be the right way around.

Just keep in mind when styling that generally you want to replicate what you see in nature. I have some jaboticaba (which are similar to the CM) and I originally wired the braches down. It never looked right in my mind and it wasn't until I looked at someone else's tree that I realised the branches looks better when more vertical

Don't trim them and they will flower on the end of the new growth.

I bent the branches up a bit to make it more natural as bougy fan suggested. Unfortunately the new apex didn't like being bent that much in one go and it seems to have died. I'll give it another couple of weeks to shoot something, either from the branch or the base where the branch comes from, otherwise I'll prob have to cut it again. It seems to be leafing out nicely. Still very two dimensional, doesn't want to send any buds to the back of the tree, but a couple of new buds have popped since the wiring.
