"Broken" Juniper Regida (??)

-- I think it is a Regida?
I have this juniper for a very long time now. About a year ago, I did root corrections. I broke a few. Shortly after I did some hard bendings. Showly the top and a main branch died as seen:

These photos were taken on 15/09/2013, so were the next two after cutting off dead branches:

My heart tells me to stay with the current setting and just wire up the remaining branch.
But my mind tells me to turn it into a semi-cascade...
What would you recommend, please? And are there any directions that I should consider?
