-- I think it is a Regida?

I have this juniper for a very long time now. About a year ago, I did root corrections. I broke a few. Shortly after I did some hard bendings. Showly the top and a main branch died as seen:

These photos were taken on 15/09/2013, so were the next two after cutting off dead branches:

My heart tells me to stay with the current setting and just wire up the remaining branch.

But my mind tells me to turn it into a semi-cascade...

What would you recommend, please? And are there any directions that I should consider?

I can't get enough detail out of the pics but I do not think this is J. rigida because I can't see sharp needles.

After many years of procrastinating over which design to go with I have worked out that if you have 2 options and not sure which one to pick then either will be just as good so you must just choose 1 and never regret the choice.

For my I think the last pic looks a bit more dynamic in the trunkline. It is not actually leaning far enough to be called semicascade and the apex could go either up or down from there but I do like that trunkline best.

keeping the original planting angle it looks like a possible nice literati

I am inclined to think the same as shibui, that this is not Junperus ridiga.

More than likely to be Juniperus davurica expansa. Could even be variegata.

The line you have chosen looks fine.

Thank you for your suggestions. I am going to stay with the line in the last photo then.

I have been thinking over this too -- too make it a semi-cascade, I would have to turn it down a bit more, it would be hard to manage the root ball in that position.

It roots easily from cuttings.

I will post updates once I work on it. I am not too worried what it is till then

I like your last pic, if I was to go with the last pic id jin those top two branches and get some cool twists in them. but that's only if you want to keep it this size.
