Rescued this fig from a neighbour - the pot originally had 2, one at each end but the other was dead before I got to it. Haven't dealt much with figs so wondering if anyone could help identify it. TIA...

Looks like a PJ. But where did you find it? Ie what part of Australia? Was it planted or wild? This will help us make a better guess. Fig IDing is not easy.

Oh just reread. Sounds like the neighbour had it in a pot?

Yeah, as I said there were 2, but one was long dead.

Just out of curiosity Ash how do you positively rule it out being any other type of fig ?

I would lose that encircling root sooner rather than later.

Don't know if I'll bother doing much with it at all, it will be going back to the neighbours once it's fully healthy so they will probably just ignore it again anyway. :(

Hopefully I can get it going enough to get a few small cuttings off it next year.

Cheers
