What Species is this?

Always been interested in Bonsai and decided to make my first purchase. I just got this from Bunnings. The plant never came with a species or tag, so I was told to grab any tag for instructions on plant care.
I'm interested to know what species this actually is (link to picture below)

Cheers.

Welcome to the site mate, and the wonderful world of bonsai :tu:

"Grab any tag for instructions on plant care" Probably not the best advice they could have given you, but then, they aren't bonsai specialist's, so you can't expect much. Each tree is different, and needs different care. The wiki on this site has some great info on care for different species so that is definatley worth a look... once you've found out what you have that is :)

Edit: Photo is now working, but unfortunatley I can't tell the species myself :(

I've done some googling.
Could it be a Buxus Bonsai tree (Box, Boxwood) species?

Hi and welcome. I would probably guess English Box

Going by the leaf size and shape, it could be Fukien Tea (Carmona microphilla) or a dwarf Coprosma, or a one of the miniature Metrosideros such as carminea. None of these look quite right to me. You might have to wait until it flowers to get a positive ID. :reading:

Hey lad, pretty sure it's a Fukien Tea, seeing as I've seen plenty of them in the bonsai section at bunnings and it looks just like one.
