Old elm for a old pot

Have had this pot since my mum got it for me when i was 14 26yrs ago almost now it has only ever had 1 tree in it which was a chinese elm an today found someing for it :tu: . I collected an elm a from my patch about 8 weeks ago an trained it yesterday an today i remembered about the pot :whistle: .
So today i carefully repotted it ( happy i cut the roots back at collection further this time) last tree i transplanted this soon has done well so of i went :lol: :lol:. Grab gravel from our path :lol: :lol: ( dont tell the wife)

Got a great future OC.

This already has the makings of a good tree and will improve as every year goes by.
Mightn't be everyones cup of excitement with a reasonably straight trunk but I believe this will achieve a very natural result for EE.

I quite like the pot and tree combo. I do, however, think that to achieve the desired height you will need to reduce the trunk length a bit more. You haven't left have growing room to develop taper.
