Hi all,
I just got back from China and thought you might like to see some wild life; still alive!(Not on the menu).
It is a Green Rock Lizard.

Well,
It looked real anyhow.
Here is a wider view of the rock show.
Larger view of show..JPG
It was part of a show of Suiseki, jade and so called Strange rocks.
The rocks are carved in interesting ways utilising the natural layers, imperfections and intrusions of the rocks. In this case a dark green harder layer over a softer and different green colored portion of the rock.
So called Strange Rock..JPG
Another one used thin black intrusions into a yellow rock to imitate a spiders web, with a larger portion of black rock carved 3D to be the spider; incredibly lifelike.

Soon,
I am now dividing my time equally to many projects now that I am officially gainfully unemployed.
Construction of screening for viewing and shielding bonsai from street front, wooden decks for human and bonsai habitation, repotting all bonsai, trimming and styling every tree (nursery stock) not in bonsai pots in my back yard, maintenance of all my existing bonsai, and finally where possible preparing photos, articles and a little teaching/workshops etc and of course volunteering at the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection; plus occasional paid work at the Arboretum in which the NBPCA is situated.
Plus I would like to travel more; we are planning to go to Iceland, Faroe Isles, possibly Greenland and northern Isles of England and western Scotland.
Then there are Bonsai conventions in Indonesia, Japan and China coming up.

This spider will have to watch out or the green rock lizard will eat it.
