Many thanks to the members of the Bonsai Society of Victoria who put in a wonderful effort for the show this year. The weather was horrid in the week prior to the show and the trees somehow arrived in pristene condition for display. Thanks also to those who supported the effort by attending, I hope you enjoyed it.
For the first time we decided to have a special focus on Australian Native trees and also for the first time (in my memory) we had awards for the best in show.
AWARDS
Best in Show was no surprise going to this well known ulmus procera (English elm.) The peoples choice was awarded to this acacia howitii (sticky wattle) I remember the first time I saw this tree, (I just had to get one for myself)
NATIVES
Many other impressive native trees were on display and it did not go unnoticed that the Australian potters Pat Kennedy and Lorraine simpson were also prominent. I especially liked this lophostemon

MORE NATIVES What is interesting with these shows is that we do not know what will arrive to be exhibited. It was a big surprise to see that nobody displayed a banksia this year.

Thanks Matt, this was the tree we selected for the promotional brochures

Some ColourLess flowers than usual, I suspect the high winds early in the week knocked them about quite a bit.

Stunning display Thanks for posting the show up Gerard, for us people who have to work weekends to make ends meet. I know how long it takes to put up so many, Thank you.

I like the lift sign above the recently wired juniper, but I disagree
