It seems my Satsuki are not the only ones capable of throwing a wobbly with the genetics

Rhododendron kiusianum, a seed grown variety

It started like this..... Then it went all frilly around the edges and stripey

And here is one that is meant to be white

Cultivars from seed can produce some interesting results.

The main reason I love growing from seed always interesting to see what comes out!

The last two varieties are cutting grown. Just good old mutation going on there
