Meagi,
If I may, a little advice that might assist people being able to better appreciate your trees and your work on them; your photographic technique needs a bit of improvement.
Steven wrote a very informative article on photographing bonsai some time ago and it would be worth having a look at that. Presently the photos are looking down on the subject and that does show respect to the tree, nor does it offer its best side.
You are very keen and exuberant which is great and people here are happy to provide comment, suggestions and help but we need a better look at the subjects as it is difficult to fully appreciate bonsai without a look at their best side. I think it would also improve your chances in the current contest. But its only a suggestion.

Thanks Very much Watto appreciate your honesty and concerns.
I will look into your suggestions and see what Steve has wrote in his article. I have built a back drop as you can see black on one side and sky blue on the other. Only one problem my 2 way hinges did not work ... another lesson learnt don't send a mate to the shop for you!!At least one with no building know how.
Now that you mentioned it I see what you mean by pictures " looking down on the trees" never noticed it before .....
I will see if I can source a decent camera any suggestions?
Thanks again
Cheers

Personally I thought your pictures have come a long way Meagi!

Having said this Watto is right and they can still be improved mate.

I had thought that I wrote a lengthy response to this thread last night?
Got no idea where this has gone....
