Hi guys,

Merry Christmas to all, hope bonsai santa was good to you.

I was hoping the brain trust here on Ausbonsai might be able to help me identify this maple that the mother in-law has been lugging around for about 10 years (and help me score some brownie points along the way ;) )

Apparently a 'horticulturist' couldn't ID it. So I appreciate any help.

Thanks guys and merry Christmas again.

Cheers,

Hi Ces,

I think this is Acer japonicum; common name is Fullmoon Maple. The leaf margins are slightly serrate and the sinuses only penetrate about half way through the leaves.

Hope this helps

Wimmy

Happy Boxing Day Ces. I'd be inclined to agree with wimmy, Acer japonicum 'Vitifolium'

Cheers,
Mojo
