This was gifted to me a while ago being an old 'Brian Sampson' stock tree

I have basically re potted it and root pruned after what looked like many years in the same pot . After sorting the roots it has bounced back so it's time for the initial style . I considered a wind swept design before opting for this slanting / literati design .

It has at some point had one of 2 leaders leader removed and a chop top . I removed 9 branches all up , wired in a major bend and created a new apex , I hope i have done this tree the justice it deserves . I have attempted to do a ring count to work out the age but the rings a way too fine for my magnifier so i have estimated it at 30 plus years based on a couple of seed grown stock tree's i have here .

I slip potted this cedar as it required the wires removed so i thought i would give it a treat

.I removed the wires and trimmed very little off the roots , it can stay in this pot for another season . It does need re-wiring but that can wait along with many others .

Looking good Alpine.

When the time comes for a new wire it will come to life yet again.

Hi Biocs , mate the wire was on way too long and produced some swelling up top . Teach a bloke a good lesson not to ignore his tree's for too long .

Cheers . Alpine
