Newbie with an Ash

Hello,

I'm brand new to bonsai. I got a small ash about a year ago which died right to its stump. Thinking 'what the hell' I cut it right back and replanted it in a bigger pot just before winter last year. To my surprise it has come back as this leafy specimen.

I'm thinking of an informal upright using a 'three split trunk' kind of look...
I'm at a loss as to what's my next step..
Does anyone have any advice for a beginner?

Great to be here
Brendan

Hi Brendan and welcome. Water and fertilise it for a while to fatten it up. Depending on how big you want it you may well chop it several times so styling isn't really a concern yet. The best advice is to join a bonsai club in conjunction with your online studies here. Which side of the river are you on ? There is the Bonsai Society on the Southside or Bimer on the Northside.
