This is one of my first plants I started to Bonsai (read made a few chops). Although I have been growing plants for Bonsai for a few years now and even had some in Bonsai pots, this is what I consider my first bonsai. After placing it in it's current pot I stood back and felt something shift inside me. My first Bonsai was created.

This tree has been grown completely with cut and grow. I have put chocks in between trunks to spread them and had wire on some branches and even the trunks. All were removed within a day or 2 as it never seemed right. Always back to how it grows.

What do you think?

An early picture soon after bringing it home nearly 3 years ago. After a little growth a year later. And a couple of days ago. It had some very large leaves and thrips to boot. So off with the leaves. And as it is now in its new pot. Still needs a small tweak of potting angle. A slight rotate to the right and a very slight tilt back.

I would consider it in proportion with the planting, the trees are graduated, and it looks ala natural, as with nature, I am just curious though about the height, will you be reducing in the future.

I'd love to see the pictures when you plant in bonsai pot in the future.

I always have trouble with the moss context in Brisbane. Is it placed in the sun or shaded area.

I find the height absolutely absurd. But I love it. It's so over the top it actually works.

I like it too. Reminds me of Dr Seuss for some reason.

No. Just developing each crown. The height will stay pretty much the same.

It is in a bonsai pot as can be seen in the last picture.

I have trouble keeping the moss alive in a sunny spot. This one will be kept in a bright area of my shade house.

I know the height is a bit absurd. It was like I said one of my first plants and I just gave it a few chops and left it for a while. I don't think it would work any other way.

The photo does make it look taller than in the bark. And with full canopies it looks quite majestic.

Love the composition of the trunks...but I would have chopped it if it was mine.

If you are going to keep it the same, how about changing over to a larger plate/pot, yose-ue group planting, but that would be again subject to the depth of the root base.

I like the proportion of the trees, (understanding the diff. between photo and real-time demensions) the group looks great, but the pot looks too small in comparison to the trees. Love to see lots more foliage, which should reduce the starkness of the trunks.
And I love the texture of the trunks.

keep the height dansai. separate the trunks more but make each gap diffarent. the pot needs to be smaller but good for now while you are training it to become a bonsai. i like it.

I love it. It's very different from the standard fig, which makes it cool. Look forward to seeing it improve over the years.

Yeah I have been. Like I said, every bit of wire I've put on has come off. Just never felt right.

I think it looks great, and you nailed the position of the plant and the pot.

Maybe overtime you may be able to reduce the height of the plants.

It is nice that you have put forward your style and although it does not comply with "bonsai rules" , it s pleasing to the eye and definitely worth continuing with.

G'day Dan,

You've created a graceful image and should be proud.
A little more separation between trunks and some gentle curves in the straight branches will help improve the appearance.
